Why a Bass In The Hood Blog?
This Blog was designed as a way to educate the inexperienced angler as well as the savvy veteran on fishing techniques and locations on urban waters. This may include local rivers, streams & ponds, as well as regional, city, county parks, and salt water bays and marinas. It is also a way to keep in touch with fishing friends and share fishing experiences. This blog is geared for but not limited to the Los Angeles area and surrounding counties. My experience includes fishing for most species from shorelines, boats, float tubes, kayaks, and bass tournaments. I practice catch and release...

I finally hooked into a bigger fish about 4 pounds after a short fight the bass went air born and throw the hook. I...

Difficult cast at Bonelli Park
I arrived at Puddingstone Lake on an April evening 2016 about 6:00 pm. After getting out the SUV and grabbing my gear I ran into a couple of guys doing the same thing after exchanging a few words they decided to follow me to a spot I haven’t fished yet this year. I t was a little windy but the spot I decided to start at was out the wind. With three of us trying to fish in this small area it was a little tight but we made the best of it. After a few cast, I saw...
