Live Target Field Mouse

Live Target Field Mouse

The Live Target Field Mouse is an 8-inch lure with the tail, the body is approximately 3 1/2 inches, it has a hollow body,  and two weedless hooks in the rear of the body. They also make a 2 1/4 and 2 3/4 body size.

This lure has great action in the water and walks the dog with very little effort.

Not only does Live Target make a great product their customer service is awesome.

The day after purchasing my first Field Mouse in a black and white color I tested it out at my local lake. It cast well on my old 7 foot Fenwick with a Shimano Curado 300 spooled up with 50 pound Power Pro braid. After several cast and reeling in the bait at different cadence to see how the field mouse moves in the water. I was very impressed with its action at a slow walking the dog pace and how you can keep the bait in one spot while moving it.

Although impressed with its action I wanted to test it more by seeing how it works in the grass. I walked further down the bank where there were patches of grass. the bait came through the grass very nicely similar to a hollow body frog. After only a few cast a bass exploded on the mouse and the fight was on the bass took me into the grass and with a little extra effort, I was able to get him out. The bass weighed in at a little over 4 pounds.

It was an exciting catch watching the bass blow up on the field mouse. But the bass destroyed my Live Target Mouse. After safely releasing the bass I put my field mouse back together the best I could but it did not have the same action and sat a little lower in the water than before the violent attack of the bass.

I contacted Live Target customer service through email and explained the situation and asked for a solution to fix it. They offered their help by replacing the mouse. Now that's what I call customer service.

After receiving the replacement field mouse, this time, all white I decided to give it a try the next day. After only three cast in the grass, a bass blew up on the mouse. I quickly set the hook and reeled it in before it could bury himself in the grass. This was a little smaller weighing in just short of three pounds.

This bass did not damage my mouse, the swimming action is still great. The excellent customer service went beyond replacing the mouse but also helped me out with the Live Target Popper that I also had great success on catching several bass.

I have to thank Live Target for making great products and providing excellent customer service.
